The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has provided a Post-Election Report (Report) to the MTA SA/NT regarding our 2022 Board Election.

The Report identified certain clauses within the MTA Rules that were difficult to interpret / apply, namely:

• Clause 13.1 – Nominations from Divisions and Zones
• Clause 15.10 – Preferential counting for Zone Representative

The MTA SA/NT has provided the following response to the AEC:

The MTA intends to take action on the above points and has recently briefed a law firm to review the current MTA Rules and recommended appropriate amendments. The MTA intends to make any recommended changes to its Rules in time for the Board election in 2023.
