Are you familiar with the 360-view technology that provides a bird's eye perspective from inside your car? Ever wondered how this system functions?
Hiran, MTA’s Trainer Assessor for Light Vehicle training recently conducted a comprehensive training session for Hyundai's technicians, focusing on calibrating the surround view camera system for the Genesis G70 3.3T, one of our training vehicles.
This process involves aligning and fine-tuning four strategically placed cameras – one in the front, one in the back, and two on the side mirrors. “Through this precise calibration, you can experience safer and more convenient parking and navigation, especially in tight spaces,” said Hiran.
The first step in the process involves precise measurements and careful alignment of the cameras using specialised target strips placed on the floor. These calibration points are crucial for achieving accurate results.
Through the vehicle's central display screen, the calibration points are entered based on the measurements gathered from each camera in sequence. This interaction allows the cameras to be aligned and integrated seamlessly into the car's ADAS system.
