The MTA recently hosted an interactive Paint and Panel Open night at our Royal Park Training Centre. We opened our doors to automotive enthusiasts wanting to find out more about what an apprenticeship in the crash repair sector involves.
Our trainers and staff teamed up to deliver an insightful presentation full of exciting activities and demonstrations. Promoting our industry to the next generation of automotive tradespeople was rewarding and we were pleased to see such a brilliant turnout.
This event was a new concept that aimed to promote the opportunities available to young people in the crash repair sector. This event was designed to showcase our trainers, industry representatives, field officers and the recruitment team in front of students, parents and school leavers in an informal and relaxed environment.
Nearly 60 people (including parents and guardians) braved the heat and attended this event, with over 20 attendees interested in taking the next step towards gaining an apprenticeship.
A special thanks to John Zulian, General Manager Body Shops at Smith Motor Group, who presented his views around the skill shortages and opportunities within the crash repair sector.
